  • True Trail is run solely by Coach Ben (Me!), an Ottawa-based, certified triathlon coach with TrainingPeaks L1, Triathlon Ontario/Triathlon Canada, and Coaching Association of Canada certifications.

    • Single-session coaching (e.g., season planning, swim technique/video, basic bike fit, run form video analysis, race-strategy meetings, in-person workouts).

    • Virtual coaching (fully customized plan, unlimited adjustments, guidance on race planning, equipment, and nutrition). For local or remote athletes.

    • In-person coaching (everything in Virtual, but including in-person sessions).

    • Training Plan Build (one-time): $150 CAD

    • Any other single session: $120 CAD

    • Virtual coaching: $200 CAD/month (three-month minimum)

    • In-person coaching: $300 CAD/month (three-month minimum)

  • That depends!

    Some people have success with self-coaching, or community-style coaching (like a team or a club).

    But there’s a reason that professional/elite athletes, as well as newer athletes who need a lot of guidance all choose to be coached!

  • Yes!

    For coaching engagements lasting longer than 12 months (very common!)

  • Training is delivered and analyzed in TrainingPeaks, with regular two-way communication using Discord or email to ensure progression.

  • A blend of data-driven analysis (load, performance metrics) and narrative context (how the athlete feels and life stressors), applied through frequent athlete-coach communication.

  • For coached athletes, I usually respond instantly. All responses are guaranteed within 48 hours (unless otherwise specified)

  • No. True Trail has a “Human Coach Guarantee”—AI is not used for any coaching guidance (though I may use A.I. for some business tasks). Your personal information never sees any AI.

  • Athletes of all levels, locally in Ottawa, ON and worldwide (virtual). Athlete roster includes world championship competitors and first-timers alike.

  • Yes. You must have some amount of athletic background (in endurance or other sports), and you must have a positive mentality toward movement, improvement, and committing to a process.

  • Yes—three months for the monthly Virtual Coaching plan. Single-session options have no ongoing commitment.

  • Yes—equipment (e.g., bike fit basics, gear selection) and nutrition guidance are included for coached athletes

  • When my calendar permits it!
